Parking/Access Road Notes: i parked on meriden hill road in columbia (the summit of teapot is in stratford) where it makes a hard turn north to cross back over lyman brook and a gated logging road continues straight ahead. the area in front of the gate has been plowed with room to park and snowmobiles have been travelling around it. pretty icy where its been plowed.

Comments
Comments: i followed the logging road past the junction with snomo corridor 3 south and then took the next right onto another logging road. snowmobile tracks on the road boded well, but they were forced to turn around at the first removed culvert a minute or two up. after that is was a supportive crust/breakable crust/semi-consolidated combo up to where i jumped off at the drainage that runs up to just south of the 2805 benchmark on the north ridge of teapot.

i opted to go up through a cut on the south side of the drainage which had nice views, but was otherwise miserable with breakable crust until i hit the woods above it which had more semi-consolidated snow. other than a bit of blowdown a direct line at the ridge worked well, but i did drift north fairly often to keep in decent woods. i hit the ridge at about 2900 and found the snow conditions to be generally more consolidated which was nice. i gave up a little elevation to the east to miss a large blowdown patch then enjoyed open and mature conifers until the final steep pitch up to the summit through scrappier woods which levelled off shortly before the recognized highpoint. i descended in my tracks and found myself punching through deeply more often than on the ascent.
