Comments
Comments: We wore Hillsounds/microspikes the entire day. Snowshoes would have been overkill, though we brought those with us, not knowing if we'd need them. The trail was packed down, from the herd path along the river, to North Twin trail, to Fire Warden trail. It was a beautiful, cold, clear, sunny day with little wind...until the summit of course. We ate a quick lunch at the top, descended at 1:00 pm and we were back at the car by 3:00 pm. On the trail we saw one couple (who started out ahead of us) and two gentlemen who were on their way for an overnight at Zealand Falls hut (self-service in the winter).
