Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The train depot parking was closed due to ice. There was a nice line of cars along 302. Just make sure you're off the breakdown lane and not blocking the depot exit...you shouldn't have any issues with ticketing.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: First water crossing was a snowbridge. Other crossings were painless and still had easy access to running water.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One small blowdown across Willey Range Trail near the A-Z Trail intersection. Very easy to walk over.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: One pup that has already made it into the 4000 footer club and another friendly retriever mix.

Comments
Comments: Used microspikes for the whole hike. Temps were above freezing and made some sticky slush which would get stuck on microspikes. Spraying with silicone or another lubricant would have helped with that. I brought snowshoes but did not use them, though they could have been useful on a less packed stretch of Avalon Trail around Mt. Avalon. Very friendly group of people on the trail today.
