Decent hike up Mount Pierce. First half of the trail is covered in snow but the melt is on. I couldn't tell if it was raining or just melting from above. Very wet. Second half of the trail was pleasant with wet snow and less melting. Summit was fine but fogged in so no view. Winds at 20-30 mi/hr. Bottom half of the trail down was getting slushy in the heat and I got quite wet from the melt. Like an early spring hike more or less. Light traction the whole way was fine. Snowshoes would work, if you wanted. Still nice to get out though despite the heat! |
