| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking lot across Rte 2 from Starr King Rd has a hand-lettered sign "snowmobiles only, hikers use lot on Rte 2". There really isn't anywhere to park at the trailhead end of Starr King Rd. I parked in the little lot next to the Irving gas station. At 10:30 there were two spaces left, about six cars there. |

| Comments: |
New powder at upper elevations approaching Starr King made snowshoes a better choice there. Light traction fine at lower elevations, and would have worked OK throughout. Snowshoes would work fine throughout as well. Lots of hikers out on a cloudy, cold-gusty, but otherwise awesome day. Round tip time: 5 hours. |
