Comments
Comments: Trail from Little R road to Summer trailhead was well packed out and continued to be so on N Twin Trail up until the Firewarden's trail to Hale. False hope dashed 10 minutes past Firewarden trail when only other snow shoe prints quit by 2nd crossing. Breaking from there on was not too bad, in spite of 6 inches or so of new snow. Didn't look like anyone had been up in at least a week. Steep section was not bad either to N Twin.
Delighted to find on spur trail to S Twin BLAZES; lots of bright, blue blazes on the trees, which were welcome in the absence of any tracks. Seems like trail blazes are going extinct in some places but not on this 1.3 stretch. No blowdowns either -made it pretty easy to figure out the route.
One person was arriving at S Twin who had come up from Galehead; en route back down from N Twin, a couple of other hikers were ascending who planned to loop over to Gale R trail, so this helped pack down a nice track today. Excellent glissading back to the river.
