Comments
Comments: Just to add to the earlier trip report. We used spikes to the Black Pond junction then switched to snowshoes. Well broken out to Black Pond. The Black Pond bushwhack is more difficult because of all the side spurs and crusty snow. I was postholing even with snowshoes in the middle of the Black Pond bush whack.

Lincoln Brook was well packed and the only issue was the side hill wet spots. Brutus was well packed though the way up went through a nasty outcrop of ledge and ice. We got around it going up but when we came down we went higher (Left) and came down higher in the ravine. There were 8 of us so the track we made is not fully compacted, but I suspect it is still easier than the rocky ledge. to get to our track going up---keep going further into the ravine and don't take the first left up the hill. The ridge was delightful with snow all over the trees and moss. Great day out with many friends. Thanks to everyone.
