Comments
Comments: First portion of Old Mountain Road had been snowshoed yesterday (splitting off at the logging road). Portions of that initial track had already drifted in a foot. Above there, unbroken, around a foot to the height of land.
With the exception of the normal wind scoured section (just above the notch, blowdown to last Tuesday's crust), the Crawford Ridgepole Trail was heavily drifted. Some drifts supported my snowshoes, while other areas I was breaking trail. Snowpack is now 4 to 6 feet.
Snowshoes a must.
