Comments
Comments: We started our hike around 8:30am on Sabbaday. The trail appeared to have been broken and then covered up with a fresh coat of snow but that was the case only up until you reached the junction to the Falls. After that it was pure workout. We broke anywhere from 1 to 3 feet of fresh snow. The trail was completely not recognizable and we relied heavily on blazes. Despite that we still missed a few blazes as we found suitable options for the water crossings using snow bridges. We set a turnaround time of around 1pm and after nearly 4:20 hours we only broke trail for approximately 3 miles total. We didn't even hit the steep sections yet and despite rotating front to back we were completely exhausted (all 9 of us). So we couldn't summit. We did play on a slides-like section about 70 feet high on the way back to get a feel for what a 1000 feet steep ascent would feel like had we chosen to continue on. We were convinced we made the right call as the climb was extremely exhausting. We did take a wrong turn at one point but doubled back and stuck a bunch of branches to help the next set of hikers.

The weather was nice and the temps were perfect...perhaps a bit too warm actually. This caused the snow to start balling up in our snowshoes which made walking difficult. Most of us were down to a base layer. All in all it was a nice day to be away from civilization and still worth the effort.
