Had originally planned on hiking Liberty on Saturday, but after reading that BAXTERSMOM wasn't able to make it even to the tent sites, I wasn't very confident being able to make it to the summit alone. Nor did I think it was very safe. Ended up deciding on Whiteface... and then changed to Passaconaway once I get in the parking lot and joined forces with my three new best friends - Jakie, Diane and Andrea. This was a 7-hour slog up the 4.6 miles. Lots of trail-breaking, eventually lots of help from HMJ who posted earlier. All in all, an awesome accomplishment and a great hike!! Full story and pics at link below.
And, yeah, I"ll join in WEAR SNOWSHOES!!!! Met up with 7 Harvard seniors who destroyed our freshly packed down trail with their 14 big boots. |
