The trail was broken in, albeit littered with waist high postholes, until the 2.5 mile mark. Our crew of 3 strapped on the snow shoes after Glen Boulder and still found ourselves wading through snow up to our chest/neck. We eventually determined the route was impassible and returned the way we came. If you choose to go via Glen Boulder be prepared to work very hard and turn back if necessary. With those snow depths it is nearly impossible to determine where the trail is (although after looking at our GPS I saw that we were on the "trail" for most of the time). We will give this another shot in June! |
