KRT is well packed. With the 15 degree start take your pick of snowshoes, spikes, or crampons. The postholes from a prior warmer day are frozen in place. The weather stayed cold today so there was no thawing on the trail. We used snowshoes on the way up for the convenience of the heel lifts and for the descent I used crampons and Anthony chose spikes. The tower stairs are covered in thick ice, traction is recommended. |
