Comments
Comments: The Italian trail that goes to Tate (Big Ball) mountain is pretty choppy from bare booters...I was one of them at beginning of day since snow was plenty firm enough. From Tate to Black Snout I was the first one on the trail for quite some time...no evidence of any track. I used snowshoes, and you will want to also...the few times I broke through I went up to my waist...fortunately, the snow was still fairly firm, though softened quickly as the day wore on. High Ridge Trail and Shaw Trail also choppy. Got to hike with short sleeves today, what a treat!!
