| Comments: |
A couple of knuckleheads trashed Blueberry Ledge from the bottom to the south peak. Other knuckleheads trashed Dicey's from the last farm house to Wiggins. I wore spikes for the ice covered road walk. I switched to shoes shortly after entering the woods. Even with 25" shoes I found myself occasionally up to my knees and even thigh deep in snow. This was more so on Rollins. The temp on top was 50. In the morning there was some direct sun. Just before noon it started to rain. No problem with Gortex, that is what it is for:) So some direct sun, warm temps and rain, heavy at times, had a significant impact on snow conditions. Shoes are a must for now. My Lighting Accents gave excellent purchase on the steeps, even on the ledges. Most of the small scrambles are walk ups. |
