Water Crossing Notes

Comments
Comments: Great day with occasional periods of extended sunshine, despite the frigid temps proper gear made it a very enjoyable trek, winds didn't seem to get above 30mph...a fresh coating of 1-2 inches of snow on the trail below tree line....many fresh snowshoe hare tracks above 4,000 feet on Ammo and Jewell...Some nasty series of deep postholes to navigate below tree line on Ammo and Jewell...Door at the Dungeon at Lake of the Clouds still frozen solid by a thick sheet of ice...trail above tree line was wind scoured with mostly rocky sections and no drifts to speak of...contemplated taking the Cog down, but decided to see how Jewell was doing, which was very easy to navigate to tree line (for a change)...had crampons and snowshoes, but stuck with Microspikes all day
