Comments
Comments: The steep part of the ascent on Amonoosuc and much of the summits was boiler plate or ice. While I saw people without crampons, they weren't, in my opinion, properly prepared and I hope they were all ok. The rising temps caused Jewel to be soft, so I changed to micros. The water crossings on lower Jewel were sketchy and with the warming temps, could become problematic by this weekend, if not sooner. Personal rant: I wish people would hold these peaks in greater respect. I get that not everyone can afford all the gear to be out in these conditions, and today was mild; but if you don't have crampons and an ice axe and know how to use it, you should not be on the higher peaks.
