I didn't see any other hikers on the trail. Webster-Jackson trail was well packed and stable if you stayed on the monorail. It was hard to tell in some places where the monorail was and if you step over you sink down. The Webster branch of the trail had some post holing with boots and snowshoes making it very uneven in places
The Webster Cliff Trail was hard to follow due to infrequent blazes and trees growing into the trail. Two people had passed through before me so I followed their footprints when unsure were the trail was. The Webster Cliff Trail was also post holed with boots and snowshoes in some places. I only needed microspikes for the whole trip. If it freezes up again you might need something more for a couple ice flows in the first mile.I didn't need snowshoes but they could be helpful to traverse the uneven terrain or to avoid sinking in the snow if you step off the monorail. |
