Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The Downes Brook river crossing has a broken up snow/ice bridge. The end of bridges are thin. They may become unstable once the temperatures warm up. Starting from the logging road off the Kanc might to join the trail might be something to consider once the bridge collapses.

Comments
Comments: Hard packed frozen snow with an inch of loose powder on top. Used micro spikes the whole time and had no issue but be careful of hidden ice on the trail in the evergreen portions and on the ledges when you make the final climb. Some frozen (deep) post holes on the side of the trail, easy to spot an avoid for the most part.

It was a clear, beautiful, but very cold day. Visibility was great. Did not see anyone today.
