Comments
Comments: Hiked with another group up Mt. Pierce today. The trail had a couple of inches of fresh powder but nothing major to break trail through. It was packed out by our 14 pairs of snowshoes but we passed a large group going up in spikes who were post holing the trail in a lot of places due to warmer temps. Saw some holes that were easily mid thigh deep so snowshoes are a good idea especially for the drifts just before breaking out of the trees. Some are several feet high. Crawford Path going towards Eisenhower and Webster Cliff Trail from the summit towards Mizpah hut are currently unbroken and have high drifts. No views at the summit today with low visibility in the thick clouds with low winds. Snow was just starting to get sticky back at the trailhead around 2 PM.
