We were the only one's on the trail today. We saw 2 cars parked at Sabbaday Falls parking lot. The hike started out pleasantly enough with about 5-6" on moderately heavy snow with light crust on top of previously packed trail. At this point, breaking trail was not difficult. However, after about a mile, we were breaking trail through 12" or more of snow and it was hard work. Given that Nala and I were tired from yesterday's hike, we decided to turn back after approximately the 2.2 miles. Sad, because it really was beautiful despite the overcast skies. |
