Comments
Comments: An over and around the mountain loop using mostly lesser-traveled trails. The more popular trails were well packed out, if choppy. I wore spikes round-trip, but some of use switched to snowshoes along Marian. Spellman is easier now than in the summer, with lots of snow to cover up a few of the awkward scrambles. Lots of kicked in steps to use. No issues along the ridge to the summit, which was windy and cold, so we didn't linger long. From Marlboro until the end of the hike, snow cover was solid enough in most places so spikes were ok. Great Pasture was a new trail for me, and it's butt-kickingly steep. The ladder on Cliff Walk was not buried, but did have some ice on it, and some of us went down backwards due to the angled steps.

The morning started out bright and sunny, but quickly clouded over. Still great views from the summit, Monte Rosa and along Cliff Walk. Not too many people out today, perhaps the earlier forecast of rain kept them away. We considered continuing on to Bald Rock at one point, but due to time and energy levels, we skipped it.

Somewhere along this loop we took a side trip to go see a thing.
