| Comments: |
The trail is snow covered for most of the way but there were about three sections lower down that were bare ground. I used snowshoes all the way but some guys in our group just used micro spikes so some post holing was occurring...not much. The trail was soft. Snow shoes will be required soon as the temps keep rising since there is deep snow up high on the trail...most likely will have to carry snowshoes at the start and put them on further up. Washington was in the clouds but there were great views of Chocorua and other mountains. Winds were gusty and almost knocked me over twice so we did not stay up top for very long. All in all a great hike taking 2 1/2 hours up and an hour and a half down. |
