Comments
Comments: From the road we just walked up past the camps and beyond the iron gate to get to the logging roads. After mud season you should be able to drive up to the iron gate and find a place to park. So far the camp owners have not objected to my knowledge but courtesy and respect to their property should be a high priority. We followed the logging road straight up ignoring any side roads or smaller skidder trails until we got to what looked to be the end. From here we followed the major drainage along the right bank and let the land dictate our path. At one point we decided to head for the ridge on our right and upon reaching the top we intersected with another logging road (returning we stayed on this road instead of reentering the woods). We took this left and continued up the slope to another drainage and followed this to a huge 'highway' log yard. from here the peak was only about 1/2 mile further up and we just went for the summit through open woods. The entire whack was pretty open. We got a little damp from the dripping melt coming off the trees in the 40-50 degree Spring weather. We followed our tracks back on the return until (see note above) the entry into the woods. Logging roads or skidder trails all the way back down. Thanks Mike and Gordon for another stellar day.
