| Comments: |
The walk on Old Toll Rd. was a mix of dry and wet ground- no issues here. The White Arrow Trail, once I got onto it, was a mess. Lots of mud, running water, slush, slick ice, and mushy spring snow. Particularly going down, my microspikes had trouble gripping the snow due to the soft, mushy consistency, but it was better than barebooting. Still potential for deep postholing above treeline, but conditions were so bony that snowshoes are total overkill.
Aside from the sloppy trail conditions, this was an absolutely gorgeous day to hike one of my "regulars". Hiked the whole way up, and part of the way down, in shorts with no shirt- it was that warm. Looking forward to summer! |
