| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
New Chester Mountain Road is in decent shape -- frost heaves have subsided, and the unpaved portion is dry and relatively smooth. Parking area is snow-free but a bit muddy.
Plenty of parking at the Slim Baker Conservation Area lot, next to the trailhead kiosk, at the end of the open portion of New Chester Mountain Road. (The remainder of New Chester Mountain Road was closed in the late 1800s and is now a woods road that serves as the blue-blazed New Chester Mountain Road trail.) |

| Comments: |
Trails are about 80 percent snowfree, and those sections that have snow are easy to manage bareboot. Some seasonal ponding on Greenan Trail on the section east of Little Roundtop, but it's easily avoided.
Some nice new trail work was done recently on three of these trails -- relocations of issue areas that were either steep and slippery or ran directly through marshy/boggy areas. Relo on Stephens Trail is blazed; ones on Cabin Trail and Greenan Trail are flagged but pretty obvious/easy to follow.
