Comments
Comments: First whack of the year with no snow, and another fire tower peak.

From the HOL, I took the woods road that departs from it until it dies out shortly thereafter. I took a compass bearing on the peak and angled up the east side through open woods, scrambling up through a small cliffy area. Lots of leaves made for some slippery footing. The ledgy summit was just beyond the cliffs. There's a huge communications antenna on the high point, with nice viewpoints to the east and west of that, some neat cairn art and an old storage shed.

I spotted the yellow blazed trail that leads down to Berry Pond but didn't follow it. From the summit, I picked up what I believe to be what nhmountainhiking.com calls the "maybe" trail, a rough herd path along the ridge which I eventually lost. I whacked down the ridge over the NE knob, then down to the HOL.

Round trip distance was about 2 miles.
