Comments
Comments: Great weather today. I brought microspikes and snowshoes but left them both on the pack. It was nice to walk the first few miles snow free. The snow started shortly after the brook crossings and increases in depth as you gain elevation. The snow was firm enough to not posthole if you stayed in the middle but soft enough to get good traction with my boots. There is still 3 to 4 feet of snow up high so snowshoes will be a good idea if the snow softens. There is a little confusion and footprints wander just below the summit but they all eventually get there. Marlie and I were able to have the summit to ourselves for over a half hour before heading down. There didn't appear to be any recent traffic in either direction on the Garfield Ridge Tr.
