Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of space! When I stopped at the office to inquire about the gate closing time, I was told not to worry because it stays open this time of year. Also, I learned that the gate opens an hour earlier than the AMC guide notes. So if you're planning this hike, call the office to inquire before you head out!

Comments
Comments: We chose a rainy, overcast day to head out on our adventure so we ended up hiking in and back on Bunnell Notch Trail. There was a tremendous amount of melt that had happened during the day and all trail conditions were enjoyed throughout the day from completely bare trail to stable monorail and plenty of postholing too. Our snowshoes came along for the ride as crampons were our preferred footwear for the day. We enjoyed a stop at the cabin for lunch.
