Bare trail for the first 2 miles then once we encountered the dwindling monorail it was hard, compacted and there were many old postholes, that were easy to avoid. An early start made this hike decent with most of the trail nice and firm. I wore light traction and my friends wore hillsounds and we all carried snowshoes and never needed them. The sun peaked out when we traversed the ridge and I noticed 3 times I sunk down (slightly) Great day with Al and Buffalo Girl. Saw about 10 others today, thanks to the solo hiker on the observation deck that didn't mind us being happy and loud. |
