Great day to be in the presi's today. Jewell trail in good shape accept for one blowdown. Around two inches of new snow on ground in morning, all gone by afternoon. Bare ground until around 3000 ft. where pieces of monorail start. Last 100 yards before tree line the monorail is narrow and hard to walk on top. Postholing may be inevitable. Above tree line minimal ice and snow. No traction necessary.
Met Kevin the Gray Knob caretaker doing a ridge walk to Washington and back. Only person we encountered all day. Great day out with my best buddy. |
