Comments: I wanted to add my 2 cents worth about this route to Wolf Cub. The Bog Eddy snowmobile trail makes a long switchback to the South at the start. Going up and down I cut the corner walking straight up/down on the fall line about 1/4 mile from the start. Going up I think this makes sense both time and distance. But there are so many rocks/rough going that I would guess it does not make sense timewise going down. Going up : after I was back on the Bog Eddy I walked about 1/4 mile then 'whacked across to the power line joining it at the dog leg. Then I walked the nice grassy path under the lines to the next ridge. Then I followed that low ridge to the summit. Woods were easy, saves a lot of walking. A little over 7 miles round trip. Some nasty postholing the last 1/4 mile. The snow will never melt.
