Comments
Comments: Began our hike on the road walk to Flat Mountain Trail, but continued on past trail head where it turns to the right. We continued on Forest Service Road, snow mobile road and onto skidder path. Entered woods about .8 mile before reaching the summit. We stayed just north of the ridge. A few blow downs as we climbed higher on the ridge. Reaching the summit we found the jar and ventured further on to find a false summit where there once was a jar, but now only a handle. Great views from here on Sandwich Dome, Tecumseh, and Tripyramids. Met 2 other bushwhackers at the summit, Old Man with a Saw, and John Cronin. Bushwhacked with them down to pond, crossing river near the shelter. Hiked back the Flat Mountain Trail, taking diversion to visit old logging camp of the Beebe Lumber Co. Beautiful day to be out in the woods with good friends Dick and Fran and my dog Reuben.
