Probably half dozen cars at the ski area when we started the Tecumseh Trail up right around 9am, maybe a dozen upon return. Began on bare trail with some monorail for a short section around the brook crossing. Longer stretch of monorail/snow began after the viewpoint. Most of the snow is melted, with stable monorail/ice covering sections of the trail. There was a lot of putting on/taking off of microspikes. Hike is doable in bare boots (only about 1/2 the people we saw had spikes), coming down the Tecumseh Tr could be tricky in a few sections. After reaching the summit, we descended via the Sosman Trail to Ski Trials. A few patches of snow left on the ski trails, but any snow is easily avoidable. |
