Comments
Comments: The higher elevations had monorails that were unstable. With Light traction, if you stayed directly in the center of the monorail, most of the time, you were ok.
We broke through the monorail several times and post holed. Snow shoes would not help. Micros are definitely the way to go. With the warm temperatures, it was a bit slushy making the footing even more unstable. All in all it is definitely doable, just be prepared for some sections of slower hiking do to the unstable conditions. The slower conditions added 1.5 hours to our hike. Still a great day to be out and the weather was perfect.
