Comments: HIgh Point in Crawfords Purchase and Millen Hill

I accompanied Dick Widhu on this hike, in his quest to hike highest points in all towns and territories in NH. We walked Jefferson Notch Rd to trail junction with Caps Ridge trail (3.2m). Took off into the woods from there, stayed to the north of Millen Hill, not wanting to go over Millen. Bad choice, as in the cull it became wet, thick with numerous blowdowns. The woods opened up on the west side of Millen and we found the High Point of Crawfords Purchase. We then decided to return via over the summit of Millen. The track was wide open, following moose herd paths. Found the canister on Millen, signed in for the second time and followed herd paths and open woods back to Jefferson Notch Rd. Beautiful warm day. Spring wild flowers starting to bloom: coltsfoot, trillium (2 species),trout lily, spring beauty and star flower. The moose have been very active over the winter and spring in this section, but found no racks.
