A marvelous day to be up on these beauties. No snow whatsoever on Airline, and clear sailing right up to the Summit of Adams. We came down Star Lake, the last third (or maybe closer to half?) had pockets of deep soft spring snow, post-holing all around. Microspikes got us through no problem with careful stepping. Heard many reports of similar snow on Valley Way, so took the cut off (which also had snow) for our descent from the Hut back to Airline for our walk out. All in all a great day - everyone we ran into so happy to be out! |
