Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Able to hop rock to rock - would have stayed dry if I had waterproof boots.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: While the trails in a wilderness area are more rugged and less maintained there were numerous big blow downs that forced traffic to leave the designated trail and create a "bootleg" trail. These were on both trails. There was also a lot of smaller stuff that could be easily stepped over or ducked under.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn't see any dogs out there today.
Bugs
Bugs: Pleasantly surprised by the lack of bugs. One person did find one tick on them after the hike.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing lost or found.

Comments
Comments: Did this one with Monica and some random friends. Didn't encounter any snow along the trails but there were some patches in the woods around 2,800 feet. Several very muddy spots where you can hop rock to rock or use the downed trees. There were a lot of smaller trees and branches on both trails that were easy to step over. It is the woods and it is a wilderness area so you expect some of that. There are many bigger blowdowns that will likely need to be removed to prevent new trails from being created. Had planned to do Sandwich too but decided to lounge around and then head down.
