Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: We did find that there were several sections that required inventive approaches to water crossing, as the creek(s) are pretty high. It was fun troubleshooting with my sons and wife the best ways to build crossings, some might still be up. There is one section about a mile in from the parking area (very rough estimate) that the bridge was washed out. Trail is obviously flooded, so we headed through the brush on the east side and caught the trail further up after the flooded section. Other water crossings were of minor issue.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No real major obstructions. Trees and branches are down, but could be navigated around. Bridges/Bog bridges need work.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Would be a nice one for dogs, especially with all of the water crossings!
Bugs
Bugs: Very few black flies. Only showed up when wind was calm and we were standing still. No mosquitoes.

Comments
Comments: Family and I took Unnamed Pond Trail route up from York Pond Rd trailhead as our first ever backpack camping trip. Weather was beautiful, with little to no black flies and no mosquitoes. It was a little chilly that night (30s), but not too bad. An abundance (understatement) of moose droppings on trails, but no confirmed sightings (we are unsure if my son really saw a moose). Unknown Pond Campsite was very nice, but as a previous reporter stated, some trash items were left at campsite #1 (spent tent poles, camp stool (still works, but ripped) and an air mattress in the privy. I did my best to fix the toilet seat though :). Many thanks to Phil at L.L. Bean for the recommendation!
