Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: We ran into trail maintenance volunteer Chris, aka "Young Sir", doing spring cleanup and maintenance on the trail. Thanks for your hard work Chris!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: We saw the dog most excited to be hiking ever, with his human.
Bugs
Bugs: The black flies are out in force. Definitely bring a headnet; it was invaluable.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I lost a pair of sunglasses on a brown laniard somewhere on the trail; possibly at the summit. If you find them, please rescue them, email me and I'll pay for you to return ship them to me! This is a follow up to my trip report for this day. We've figured out that the sunglasses were likely dropped 10 or 15 minutes below the summit, when we stopped to strip off our top layer on the descent. Again, if you find them, please grab them, email me, and I'll pay you for return shipping. They are brown on the outside, green on the inside, and on a brown laniard. Thx!

Comments
Comments: We had a gorgeous day on Mount Moriah. Blue skies with white clouds, warm sun, and clear visibility. The two ledge views on the way to the summit give a great sneak peak of what is to come. We didn't notice a ton of blazes on this trail, but it is easy to follow. The first half of the trail, to the ledges, is pretty dry. Once you hit the ledges, the trail is wet and muddy and at times you are walking through flowing runoff. There is lots of steep exposed rock, so we were tree hugging in places on the ascent and descent. Notwithstanding that, we still beat book time and it gave us lots of opportunities to laugh at ourselves!
