Comments
Comments: While I'd planned a bigger outing, it began to rain north of Crawford Notch when I was driving up, and I ended up doing this instead. No reason to go deep into the wilderness when you don't know if it's going to rain the whole time or not, and besides, I hadn't been to Hale in a while. The climb up to the summit was more brutal than I remember it being, but the down and out on Lend-A-Hand and Zealand trails was a lot of fun. Everything was wet, but running in the rain is a pleasure all its own. Ran with my umbrella deployed for most of my outing, providing a sense of dryness (though no actual dryness was had), and some wind resistance to run against. Great to get out, and of course the sun came out in North Conway after I got back!
