Comments
Comments: Great weekend in the Presidentials! Lowes started out nice and gradual but as it got steeper about halfway up, the rocks and roots were pretty slick though they appeared dry. Some fairly muddy sections earlier on. Hit Jefferson on day 1 via Gray Knob Trail which is gnarly with difficult footing and was slow going. About 100 yards of slushy snow on one of the loop trails up to the summit. Spikes might be useful to prevent sliding down but we didn't use them. Stayed at Gray Knob which did not disappoint!

Continued up Lowes on day 2 to Adams and then Gulfside to Madison. 50-70 mph winds were insane all day; it was a memorable way to finish out our 48 on Madison! Trails above treeline in good condition. Some intersections were confusing and many without distance markers so bring a good map.
