First time on the north section of the Imp trail, enjoyable up to Imp face on a warm sunny Nov day. Icy spots and snow showed up on the North Carter trail, bare-bootable though probably would have saved some energy with Yak traks - not deep enough for Microspikes. Same thing up on the ridge, though some more substantial ice in a few spots. Put on the Yak traks for the descent off Middle Carter just to feel a little more stable. Did not like the south branch of Imp trail - too rocky and wet which was tough on the knees, though less steep than the north branch. |
