Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A few minor streams, all easily crossed.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Overall in good shape for a lightly used route. A few stepover blowdowns. The logging roads are grassy, so watch for ticks. The footpath portion has areas of mud, some significant. Along the ledges, the trail dips into a few small flooded mud pits. Blazing is very light overall, but the corridor is easy to follow.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure.
Bugs
Bugs: I started early so it wasn't bad on the ascent. Black flies came out mid-morning and were a PITA for the rest of the hike. I picked up a couple of ticks along the grassy logging roads.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: Another trip up Blueberry, this time along the lesser-traveled northwestern segment of the BMT. Easy to moderate grades the whole way with good footing. Can't say the logging roads were my thing, but the upper half of the trail is nice. Great views to the west from various open ledges. The side path to the actual summit is a bit obscure if you're cruising along. There's a large boulder right in the BMT at the junction, where there is also a small cairn with a faded green blaze. The yellow double blaze on the tree here is pretty much gone.

Another quiet day in the mountains. Only saw two other people at the summit, and a couple of mountain bikers heading in when I returned to the car.
