| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking is on Marble Road, just before a bridge and across from a cottage and after Bayle Mountain Road. This is private, there is a small parking area with two small signs one with a chicken and one with a turtle. Probably enough to hold cars. There were there when we started at 9:30 AM and none when we returned. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There were blazes along the first portion in the woods although there were a little faded and then there were some small cairns probably more a small pile of stones every so often. Could use some more blazes / cairns especially where the trail comes out on the top ledges. We spent a few minutes looking around for the trail down, it was not easy to spot. |

This is one of the Ossipee 10, we finished our list on Bayle today. This is the one that is not close to any of the others since they are all on the southern end of this range. The hike is a total 2.6 miles. The first .75 miles are on a wide road/snowmobile trail after passing the orange gate, no trail markings but there is one wooden arrow sign where another road goes off to the left. After a sag look for a pile of stones on the left where the trail goes into the woods. The treadway is good and has red blazes. After a 1/4 mile or so it starts going up through a boulder field and you need to keep looking for small cairns, etc. There is one area where it is steep exposed rock but then it levels out. The top is open and has 360 degree views. We ran into a large group coming up that were from the area since there were no cars at the parking area. Great list, the Ossipee range has some wonderful mountains and is our go to in the spring when the conditions up north are not good. |
