| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
All Zealand Road trailheads were overflowing when I arrived at ~12:30, Sugarloaf had emptied when I drove back through around 3. I scored a spot in the overflow lot by the bridge at Zealand Trail, and there were vehicles parked down the road a bit. Get there early if you want a spot! |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All easy hops, if not bridged. North Fork running pretty low at Thoreau Falls, did not cross, but would have had no issue doing so. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in great shape, no blowdowns. Ethan Pond a bit brushy between the open section of rail grade below Whitewall and Thoreau Falls. Not problematic though. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw plenty out with their humans, enjoying the day. |
|
| Bugs: |
I never really stopped long enough to let them find me, but they were out. |

| Comments: |
Planned for a bigger run, but pared it back to just hitting Thoreau Falls, as swimming and beer took precedence... plus it was hotter than expected, though there was a nice breeze at times. Dodged many a person on my way up Zealand Trail (and out too, just less), Ethan Pond was much quieter, and there was only one person at Thoreau Falls, though there were two other packs there too... owners unaccounted for. Nice to get out into that little slice of the Pemi. After a very short break it was quickly out and down, then there was river soaking, and cold beers, not necessarily in that order. |
