| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
About 3/4 mile on Ravine Lodge Road from route 118 there is angle parking. The relocation of the parking area is due to construction activity for the Ravine Lodge complex. There is about a mile road walk to the trailhead. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All significant crossings were bridged |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in overall good condition. Tree falls on Asquam Ridge were easy to get by. Two trees down between upper bridge on Asquam Ridge and the upper junction with Al Merrill Trail. The tree falls were more numerous on Asquam Ridge above the upper junction with Al Merrill trail. A trail signed as Trap's Turnpike avoids a washed out section of the Asquam Ridge Trail (amounts to a re-route). |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw one dog. Trails should be fine for dogs. |
|
| Bugs: |
Not many. There was a breeze at the open summit area. |

| Comments: |
Today's route was a loop trip around Jobildunk Ravine. There is a short side path off Asquam Ridge trail to the high point on Mt Jim. There are views to Franconia Ridge through the thinned out trees on the Asquam Ridge Trail just northwest of Mt Jim. The herd path off Beaver Brook Trail to Mt Blue is obvious although it obscured in a couple of places by evergreen boughs which hide some downed trees across path.
Great views from the summit in all directions. Many hikers on the trail today. |
