| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We parked across the street at the Downes Brook Trail lot. At the Church Pond trailhead there is a lot for 2 cars. One car was there. |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
The first crossing of Swift River we waded barefoot. Not comfortable for us on the rocky bottom with our tender city feet. Second crossing a little further along was helped by a beaver dam. On the way back the crossing where we originally waded we improvised a little log bridge and thus rockhopped and stepped on the log. Getting our boots a little wet we figured would not be a problem at that point because we were done for the day after that. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Recent bog bridges are a big help. They have apparently been replace since the AMC guide described them as rotted in 2011. Abandoned east branch of the Church Pond Trail is very overgrown and boggy. We aborted trying to get through there. |
