Started beyond the gate and in a few hundred yards I think we picked up the "old smugglers road" that Amy spoke of in her post. This skirted NE of the pond and ended at the border swath. We then followed an ATV trail straight ahead to avoid the steep climb to D'Urban. This track came out above and followed a Canadian Foot Trail marked with red tags. Back on the swath we just headed to the recognized summit at the HOL. From here we retraced our steps back to the ATV trail and then followed the Swath through some boggy areas that are the inlet to Boundary Pond then up to Snag Pond Peak. Returning from Snag Pond Peak using the swath and then at one point aiming directly to the Boundary Pond Dam through mostly open woods. A pretty easy whack for the 1st two of our 8 peaks in 3 days thanks to prior posts. |
