Comments
Comments: A return to Hayes via the new to me CT, also a segment of the AT. The trail was mostly dry with some damp areas from the recent rain. A few mud pits along the ridge. Nice long stretches of stone steps to help on the steeper sections. "East Hayes" is a nice ledgy bump that probably had a great view at one time. Now it's just peeks over the trees. From the junction with MT, I headed south down that trail to the actual summit of Hayes (don't blink) and then beyond to the spacious south ledges. A stiff wind and stormy-looking overcast made it chilly but it never rained. Lots of through hikers making their way north today.
