Comments: Never know where to post this one, but since the majority of the hike was in NH and I started and finished in NH ...

Pleasant walking up BMBT, a new trail to me. It gets fairly steep higher up. Mostly dry with a few spots of mud. It gets a little brushy near the ridge. I had forgotten how rugged and steep the climb up to each peak is. Great views from the East Royce subpeak. Many lament why this isn't on the 52WAV list. It's because it's in Maine. :) I followed the herd path from there over the wooded summit and onto the northern ledges. A wonderful spot. Potentially confusing travel through here though, as there are many paths meandering around.

Dropping back down to the col, I then went up to West Royce. The near summit viewpoint is pretty grown in but still offers a decent vista. Just past there, a very short herd path leads to the actual summit and fire tower remains. Even though the remains are just off trail, they could be easy to miss due to thick tree growth.

Only a few other people out today, and no one at all on BMBT. A nice day out. :)
